This lovely 6" wide cassetta frame was inspired by the
designs of the American Arts and Crafts period.
It features a hand-carved cap with a gently coved
panel and reeded ogee lip, finished in water-gilt 22K
genuine gold leaf. The gold is burnished on the cap
and lip over dark brown bole, and left matte over
green bole on the panel. The bole colors were mixed to
complement the hues of the painting.
The carved corner motif was custom designed to
match the furnishing above which the picture hangs.
